OOC: Meh, Noss is slow; it'd be impossible for him to avoid the attack at this point -w-

Noss was, worded simply, impressed.

As his jaws clamped down around his opponent's tail--the very extension of his spine--no sound of pain rang in Noss's ears, even as his hindquarter was slashed at with lethal fangs. Noss let no sound reach his opponent either, if not only because the attack had caused minimal damage. With the changing seasons came his even thicker coat, but his toughened hide was the primary defense. Years of battle training had honed his reflexes to defend what he lacked, but he could not deny the firm grip that the other had. The fangs had pierced a few centimeters; combined with the layer of fur, it was enough to keep Noss rooted where he stood. It also had his opponent at a disadvantage, locked as they were. Despite Noss's previous thought, flinging the pup away would be impossible. Dragging him back a few inches, sacrificing some fur and maybe some blood-droplets... Doable

Taking one last clench around the tail, Noss let go and craned his head around to take his own bite into the spine along the other male's back. His canines were only a hair's breadth away from the bristling curve of the pup the second he released the tail, and he anticipated the pup's own blood to spill to match Noss's own. A brave pup I have met. But a warrior? That remains to be seen. Noss may have been impressed, but he was a far cry from admitting any sort of honor upon his insulter. For the matter, as much as the bite wound itched his leg, the words from earlier had cut deeper.

In the Crescent Moon Pack, if Noss had even been slighted by anyone outside of family, a challenge was initiated. More often than not, the others gave in by his crushing weight. On the field of battle, Noss had been their front-line and barrier; unmovable as he barreled through the ranks. His enemies he had thrown to the ground, crushed their windpipes, or snapped their spines. Never had he let Ralla see the brutal side of him where even he became disgusted with the means that he was degraded to using to win a battle.

And this pup was proving to be as much of a blockade as Noss was to his previous opponents. As much sense as it would've been to end the fight quickly, a part of Noss then wanted to see just how far the foolish, disrespectful pup would go:

How much he was like Noss.

Warrior walks. "Warrior talks" Warrior thinks.
