Izaak had managed to explore most of the mansion over his time of living there. He had taken things from random rooms and brought them to his Unky Cotl's room to place upon his bed as he did with every new thing that was brought in. His uncle's bed had become some sort of catch all. Now what happened to the things after they had been deposited was unknown because the coyote child generally forgot all about them. They were just things of passing interest, things he had found and wanted to show off, then forgot all about. Because of this he had never missed anything that wasn't still there by the time that he got back.
So while he had explored the first floor of the house, as well as the unoccupied rooms on the second, he hadn't gone anywhere else in the manor. Or outside of it either for that matter. He had passed the guard shack all of the time but had never thought to peek inside of it yet. It was such a little place in comparison to the mansion so it was bypassed simply because he had his focus on the larger structure. And now he had gone down a staircase in that large building that he had never noticed before.
What had led him to this were the faint sounds coming from below as he passed by. Of course this had the boy curious and so he had to go exploring. After all it just wouldn't be right to leave whatever was done there all alone would it? Izaak certainly didn't think so. So the child disappeared down the stairs. His eyes had to adjust to the low light but what he saw surprised him. There were cages of rats down here. He had seen one or two of these running around the house and his Unky Cotl said that Halo was training them for something. So that meant.... someone stole Halo's rats and hid them down here! Oh no! She must be missing them! Except Izaak had no idea where to find this Halo. Well there was only one thing that he could do.
Taking them a cage at a time Izaak carried the rats up to his Unky Cotl's room. He figured that his uncle would know just where to find Halo in order to give the rats back to her. It was after the last cage was up in the room, and Izaak had remember to close the door... at least after a couple of rats had escaped the room, did he open up all the cages in order to free the rats. It was with childlike glee that he sat on the bed with the empty cages and just watched the rodents flood the room. He even giggled as a couple of them crawled over each other. "So nett..." The words were spoken amongst another giggle as a whiskered nose sniffed at his toes. But then again Izaak found himself to be easily amused so it was no wonder he would be entertained now.
