HOORAY! YOU CAN HAS THIS NOW! Oooo, gold! (362 words)

Her fingers tightened around her arms as Clover stood staring down at the boy sprawled not far from her. Though she listened to his words, straw eyes were busy studying his form and the items that accompanied him. In particular, three things caught the young girl’s interest. First of all was the green color of his eyes. She could admit that she had fallen in love with them far before she had ever met Harlowe. They were the same jade green of the boy back in Juniper Peace; the long lost love whom Clover would most likely never see again. Second was his folded lean frame. When her gaze was finally able to break away from the chocolate framed jade, she noticed just how inviting the plane of his chest seemed to be. Third were the things at his side. It seemed as if he had brought along some old human books and Clover was largely interested in what they had to say. She had never really had many books, but she always found herself intrigued by the words the extinct humans had left behind. One of the best things she had had the privilege of reading had been: “Have faith in love, if nothing else.”

She nodded softly, before letting one hand rise to brush some of the golden hair away from her face. "I’m the same way," words somewhat bashful as she considered her trek in the wrong direction. She didn’t want to admit she had gotten so wrapped up in her own mind that she had gone this far out of her way. And now that she had come across Harlowe, Clover knew she’d feel stupid if she turned back now. For whatever reason, she didn’t want him to realize her foolish mistake. So instead, she’d create a reason for lingering. "What’re you reading?" She took a few quick steps in his direction, before crouching and pointing towards the notebooks and things he had. Maybe he didn’t want to have the company right now, but Clover needed this. Somehow she was clinging to this small interaction in hopes of not falling back into that pitiful feeling of emptiness.
