This meeting is not mandatory. :> Follows directly from No Drums for This Soldier. Basically going to be a relaxed thing where Kae maybe tells everybody how Inferni first got started. Then somebody (Gabe? Or maybe Corona? :O) could tell about how they survived the fire. ^^; Something like that! Feel free to PM me if you have any other ideas of what we could do hurr. :> Also, I has permission to powerplay Gabe coming in near the end, but everyone can reply immediately if they like. (508)

The silver-shaded coyote and one of her oldest friends caught up a little as they made their way deeper into the coyote territory. It had occurred to Kaena some weeks ago that it had been a long, long time since Inferni had a proper meeting—the wartime meetings during the Dahlian crisis hardly counted in the Centurion's estimation. The coyotes were always a loosely-affiliated bunch, and in her estimation, they required a certain amount of forced bonding. Besides, she wanted Kesho to see what they had become. In truth, there were few whole-blooded coyotes anymore. Inferni had become intensely hybridized, and the scarred Centurion did not know how the newest Tirones would react to this. She valued his opinion, of course, but there was certainly no way it could take precedence over clan loyalty. And many of these hybrids were her own children.

“Inferni's changed a lot. New territory, new faces,” she began, hesitantly. “I think I'll try to call them together. It's been a while anyway.” Kaena saw no reason not to celebrate—Kesho had returned, and he had returned on the cusp of winter, eight years to the day (though of course, the date was unknown to Kaena) that they'd gathered on that skinny old strip of beach. “We'll head to the beach by the caves. Good spot,” she said, rising from her thoughts. From there, the silver-shaded coyote picked up the pace, moving with more eagerness in her step. Certainly, she had lost considerable speed from her youth—this did not mean she was incapable of running.

When they reached the beach, the coyote woman felt a longing to dive into the waves and chase after them. Maybe Kesho would join in. She kept her composure, however, and simply slowed to a stop over the sand, yellow-golden eye peering over the stretch of beach they called their own now. It was probably less coast space than Hell's Coast, but it was close to the caves, and the scarred coyote thought this beach could have even been prettier than their original coastline. Rocks jutted out of the water, glistening with the spray and battering of the ocean. Tide pools were more plentiful on this beach, and they had the deltas of the rivers, too. As much as she might have ached for the old beach, the coyote did not think this one was so terrible.

There was a hint of a smile on her muzzle as she tilted it back to the sky and called for the clan, a soft and imploring tone that did not demand their presence or raise any sort of alarm; the hybrid did not wish for anyone to rush over in the hopes of finding trouble. Just moments after she had grown quiet again, a familiar figure emerged from the hills of the caves, moving steadily in their general direction. Kae muttered a quick introduction to Kesho, hoping he would recover from the possible shock of learning the leader of the clan was now Kaena's son, and turned to greet Gabriel.
