Into the sea

The young woman had left her equipment back in the Mansion. She had contemplated dropping by the caves to see the Centurion and her son, but chose against it. Lids hooded her dazzling ruby eyes as she peeked up at the blue sky made imperfect by dots of whirling greys in various hues. A clawed hand rose to rest against her cream painted chest in pursuit of the steady rhythm of the pulsing organ hiding behind flesh and bone. The world was looking a little bit more right these days, and she hoped that she could avoid the drama that always managed to find her. Perhaps it was her bad karma drawing ugliness in her direction, but if she opened her eyes she could plainly see that not everything was bad.

Dark copper hair danced in the breeze as she paced away from the large villa and towards the distant shore. Last time she had gazed upon the glittering sea she had stood beside her father with her young son in her arms. The beat deep behind her chest adjusted to a higher rhythm at the thought of Samael, but she did not want to look back into the past where darkness lurked. It was a long walk, but it did her good. She wondered if she should have asked Silas to come with her, but she was still uncertain of where they stood, overall. There was more confidence than there had been though, and that was good.
