When Ouija came upon the skull lined borders he had changed directions. He wasn't about to traipse across clearly claimed lands. He didn't feel like clambering through the mountains either. That simply left him with the short swim across the bay. It was remarkably shorter than the first trip that he had made. But once again, instead of walking the long way around, he had decided to swim because it was shorter. And well, it was easier than climbing up and down the mountains.

He pulled himself from the water and climbed on the beach before shaking himself dry. The slight amount of dirt that he had acquired had been removed by his swim and only left the faint traces of muted colors in his fur. He hadn't found anything to color with just yet so he wasn't as colorful as he typically was. But that was just the way that the colder seasons went. All of the fresh fruits and plants that he used to dye himself with died off when it got colder. But there was still blood to paint himself and he certainly wasn't against that at all.

Actually he thought to do just that when he spotted a rabbit that had speedily hopped by. It was after that he had noticed someone else had been chasing it. He couldn't help laughing as rabbit after rabbit outwitted the female. He watched her chase another rabbit down a hole and when she had moved on he reached a large arm, being in optime form, down the hole to pull the rabbit out. With his other hand he had reached into his satchel to pull out his athame in order to slice the small mammal's throat, having to lick clean his muzzle when blood droplets splattered up there.

He watched where the rabbits went then reached in to clean out the holes. There were some that he had to dig at to widen and open up since the rabbit would have gone deeper than his reach allowed for. Or else the tunnel twisted in a way that he couldn't move his arm. After having gathered a few rabbits, each of their throats having been slit, he finally approached the female.

He didn't say a word but tossed a couple of the rabbits down at her feet before he had plopped himself on the ground. He figured it was only right to share. If she hadn't stirred them up then he wouldn't have known where to find them. He focused on his own couple of rabbits. They were placed on their backs so that the soft underbellies were on display for him to cut into. He opened up each of the animals before licking the bone blade on his athame as clean as he could get it before sliding it back into his satchel. Taking a rabbit at a time he reached a large hand inside of the small body to pull out the entrails. But rather than eating them he simply rubbed them on his body, transferring the blood coating them into his fur. He rubbed down his chest and arms, it not covering much but at least it added back in some color.

The entrails were allowed to fall to rest into his lap, planning on eating after he got done with his quick dye job. But for now he picked up the rabbit that he had removed the intestines from and carefully fitted the head into his jaws. He crunched down into the skull and with a jerk of his head he removed it, scalping the poor bunny as well. He had only done this to expose the brain. It wasn't large at all but that didn't stop him from scooping it out and rubbing it on his face. With his other hand he blindly worked to remove the heart from the carcass so that he could squeeze the blood from it onto his face and worked on spreading it around with the brain in his other hand. The female that he had sat down a short distance away from going ignored as he worked on decorating himself. He had given the female her share of the find and was using his own how he wanted to.
