How this had all lead up to this moment, he couldn’t be certain. He had dreamt of being this close to the Inferni princess before, but had never seen it occur in a way such as this. Countless nights spent with images conjured in his mind of the two together, and yet reality separated them by a long hallway. It didn’t matter though, for this wasn’t a dream now. This was reality, and Halo was truly there in his arms. He could never imagine that her touch could be so comforting, or that he might need it so much. The absence of feeling that had occurred from his family’s departure was easily being filled with Halo’s touch, and the young boy’s body yearned for more. He needed this, he needed her. Now that the door had been opened, it seemed impossible for Silas not to step through.

And yet, hesitation after their lips broke away for the second time. The princess had divulged some insight into the horrors of her past, and Silas worried this would edge too close to them. Could he proceed? Was this what she wanted? Suddenly, it seemed as if doubt found its way too easily into his heart, and the eager stroking of hands seemed to slow somewhat.

Pale eyes searched the fiery crimson, longing to find the answers to all of his questions there. He wasn’t sure what to do now; wasn’t sure what she wanted. "I vant you to be happy," he murmured to her, as if this might offer her insight into his mind and clue her into what inhibited him. He wouldn’t be the one to hurt her, ever. There was no doubt the boy would take his affections further if allowed, but he would not hurt Halo like others had done in the past. She was, after all, a princess and she deserved only the best. Silas could hardly qualify for that.
