oh hay, sneaking Ehno in now. >.> wc:331

He wasn't sure what made him wander so deep into the Dreamer territory earlier that day. Ehno knew that his sister was expecting her second litter any day now, and the Marino man was determined not to miss being a part of the welcoming committee for his new nieces and nephews. He hadn't been around for the birth of Ghita and Jazper's previous litter, having been temporarily relocated to the Valley pack at the time to help care for his own newborn litter. He would not allow himself to miss it again, and had been lingering in and around the Manor for the last few days. And of course it would be his luck that the moment would come while he was out in the middle of a hunt.

Jazper's call had the Italian man halting abruptly in his tracks, head snapping toward the manor and all thoughts of his prey suddenly vanishing. Without a second thought Ehno hurried back toward the manor, mentally cursing the extra time it took him to circle around to the opposite side of the lake. Finally he reached the Dreamers' communal home and was surprised to find Aro out on the porch. He began to wonder that perhaps it had been a false alarm, or more worryingly that something might have gone wrong. The Marino didn't hesitate to find out, slipping into the manor without breaking pace.

He slowed only when he came within sight of the living room, finding it to be filled with friends and family. Ehno settled himself down off to one side, not wanting to disrupt. Amber eyes swept across the room to see all that had gathered. The sight of the wriggling newborn in his brother-in-laws hands brought a smile to his lips and banished any worried thoughts that had remained. And then, of course, there was the newest addition to their family, safely delivered and handled with expertise by their niece. He was late, but he hadn't missed it after all.
