making amends

A nervous knot tightened in his stomach and the young male allowed his hand to clench slightly around the ears of the two rabbits he held. He remembered the scathing words from her white companion and her sour look as he got it wrong. What if she didnt wish to see him again? What if he had offended her beyound the point of repair. He knew he was over-reacting and considering the fact that he already knew she was a nice person, he tried to convince himself to stop fretting and calm down. The damage was already done and he could make up for the fact that he was an ignorant pup. There was also very little he could do right now by way of escaping- the knock had been sent and he had a peace offering for her. He knew he was well set up for his apology. It was just a matter of time before she opened the door and he would apologise again.

Keen cinnamon-backed ears twitched as footsteps from inside caught their attention. Moments after the front door swung inwards and Tsukiko stood in the doorway. An odd sensation washed over him- his stomach seemed to flip inside him and his heart took off at an unnatural rate. He tried to convince himself that it was nerves that brought on this reaction, but he was not so sure. Her greeting made him smile softly and in doing so he took a deep breath. He could smell the floral scent of the tea he had drunk a few weeks before, hot and fresh. He could smell the feline scent of her companion, although on further inspection his emerald eyes could not spy the cat out. He bought his eyes slowly back up to her face, taking in the beautiful garment she wore over her body. In his nervousness, Saul thrust the rabbits forward and almost into her body.

"I bought these for you... t-to say sorry again!"

He spluttered out, rabbits dangling in his clenched fist that almost touched the female's chest. He knew he was too close, but if he withdrew his hand it could be taken that he had changed his mind about giving them to her. He wanted to know that she was okay and his prying green eyes noticed that she was just a little slimmer than their last meeting. She should be getting chunkier with the coming summer, not slimmer. Worry creased his brow and he gazed up into blue eyes for a moment before looking away, unsure of what to do now.
