Let's do this thing! ~jumping jack warmups~

Fidgeting was not Ascher's normal way of dealing with anxiety - ignoring it was. But when it came to a game like Saul's, with lots of running around and chasing and maybe even tackling, the young wolf had no idea how to let off the pre-game steam. He was not even sure how the game would progress - though Saul had explained things simply enough to him - because Ascher had the nagging feeling that he was going to be a target for the opposing team, whosoever it was comprised of. If Gideon were here, it would have done a world of good for him to be on Ascher's team - no one was worried about anything when one's big brother was there for you. But odds were that even if he were here, he would be on the other side of the line.

And Saul did not count this time because he was not actually playing. Ascher made a face at his brother without any explanation to go with it. Aside from that, the small Stormbringer began stretching out his legs and arms in a variety of methods that had to look silly, but made him feel much more relaxed. Layla seemed a very capable team leader, but Ascher had it in his head that Conor was an unstoppable force, and needed to be treated with the utmost caution. He shook his head furiously after that, though; worrying about something only made it more worrisome, and that was no where near helpful in a game like this one.

”So what's the plan, Layla? Who's going to be the what this round?” There was not a hint of trepidation in Ascher's voice, and he started convincing himself that there was no way he was going to get downed by anyone, and that was that. Just to be on the safe side, though, some more leg stretching ensued.
