Sermon on the Mount

Sorry a bit preachy but feel free to walk in and bug him!

The behemoth sat on a rock outcrop, disarmed, his holy sanctified blades resting under him along with his dagger. His path had been discovered, the bible laid at his feet, the prayer beads draped around his neck along with a silver cross hanging in the wind. His paw slowly moved along the beads in meditation, legs crossed Indian fashion, letting the wind talk in silent whispers to his soul. Saluce had changed a lot in the past few days, for so long he denied the teachings of his past instructor. He had taken only the physical and warrior nature of his teachings and left the spiritual teachings behind. The posturing of Knights never interested him, even though his teacher was considered a paladin, a warrior prophet who protected as much as he spread the faith of peace and love. It had taken him years to understand, his teachers words had come filtering back to his mind, the words that he had memorized had suddenly found meaning, the brute had found the answers to his dilemma’s and now a strong foot needed to stay firmly put in those teachings to ground him in the universe.

The failed mate ship with Layla, the fight with Nayru had all carried important lessons, they where reminders, fate was stepping in at every turn to push him back toward his destiny. Like the Apostle who denied Jesus name three times, Saluce had denied his god to many times and now he had a life in front of him to make up for his denial of his existence. The behemoth was beginning to be re-forged in a new light, no longer the mythical monster and bringer of death but the bringer of light and heavy handed enforcer against the evils that possess his kind. A paladin, to protect the weak, to watch over the pack he was charged with, and to spread the message of peace and faith. That was the man’s charge; he wasn’t some bloated knight with silly preconceptions of chivalry, no his hand was guided by the light of god.

A single solitary thought prevailed, these wolves he considered his family needed him to be here, and they needed his faith as much as his righteous blades. So with a purpose his form slowly stood atop the rock, eyes still closed, and hand clutching the beads, soul finally free of the curse that had plagued him for so long.

“And to holy God I pray, Amen” where the words that finally escaped his lips.
