ooc: 519 words. LET'S ROCK!

Soon the light dusting of snow came in sheets, covering the once lush green valleys and decorating the tops of trees like icing on a cake. Traveling was not impossible just yet, but the male knew he couldn't leave.. not yet. His feet made deep prints in the white snow in the mid-afternoon sun, snowflakes slowly drifting down and melting when they touched his body. Bangle couldn't stand to be cooped up, or anymore so than he knew was going to come in the harsher time of winter, and the multicolored coywolf found himself at Cercatori D'Arte's borders.

He had traveled the edges of the pack often, but as he rounded a bend of snow-kissed trees, he saw a rather large tree tower above them all. How had he missed this before? Its trunk was painted and carved, the limbs decorated, and Bangle knew, as could anyone, that it belonged to the pack he resided in. As he approached it, the traveler noticed the familiar yellow and purple combination that swirled around the tree, and the letters of the pack's name carved in the trunk for eternity. It was massive, and marked for a possible good reason - so that every other wolf knew who lived there.

"Well aren't you'a sight," he said aloud to the tree, looking up into its snowy branches. It was then that Bangle nodded, deciding that this was where he'd pass most of the day. He unhitched his several rucksacks, bags, bottles, and jars from his body, pushing dreadlocks away from his face as he set up. Using his paws to clear the snow away from the space he chose to work, he set his working fur on the frosted grass. Snow piled up in odd piles around him, disturbing the blanket that nature set in this little space. It took the traveling merchant no time at all to set things up, indicating he had done this several times before. When he finished, he stood before the mat and observed his handiwork.

Several jars aligned the front of the mat, filled with who knows what - liquids, objects, or even both. Skulls of different animals were placed side by side, with leg, chest, and rib bones accentuating the sides of each. Feathers came next, lavishly decorated and painted in some way or another, followed by beads made of several different objects - also painted. Alongside that were various leather and fur pieces, made into jewelry, or even clothing objects such as gloves or shoes. It seemed, at least to the casual customer, that this was the only set of 'pretty' crafts Bangle had made, while everything else seemed a bit creepy, or outlandish. Then came weapons or other household objects, crafted either from bone, wood, or stone - these materials turned into several knives, or bowls, spoons, digging sticks, spears, and so on. And yet there was still enough space for Bangle to work on the mat, and as he adjusted his long fur coat on his body, the coywolf settled down and let his hands do the work that had become his lifestyle.
