Painting was cracking under a rough index finger as the pale gold Anathema member allowed it to slide across the rough, breaking surface of the dirty window frame. There was a vivid line of red and browns left behind the finger’s trail, and as he turned his finger’s underside to invest it with his scarlet gaze, the area was thick with dust collected over the years. In fact he found it slightly disgusting, frowning mildly at the sight before he casually started to swipe his finger clean on a ravaged piece of remaining curtain that proved to be nearly as dirty as the window. The youth huffed slightly, finally deciding to rub the dirty area against his side, caring little if deep gold was stained slightly darker in that particular spot. He remained fascinated by the glass though, seeing as it had remained intact all these years. He knew that the creatures that had made these buildings were long dead, but how come their work remained? Why did they have to be remembered?

The scarce light allowed him to witness the dust motes dance through the stagnant air, and for a moment the male allowed the insignificant performance of dead matter to force stillness onto his form. Was it beautiful? The young male continued to struggle to find the lines that were required for a creature to feel. He was not indifferent, but he was quick to fall into boredom. There was one sparkling moment adorned with crimson in his memory, but the short video clip did not own the memory he wished it to have. He missed the unusual feeling of his own blood boiling in his veins, roaring through his ears like a monsoon caught in a hurricane. He had been drugged by the moment, and could from this experience explain in detail what life really felt like. But no, he had failed his lovely caretaker and remained a misunderstood outcast thrown into the adult world of loneliness and solitude. Anathema’s members remained strangers. He was not sad though, for he knew that it was he that had to take responsibility for his own life. And that was what he did.

Eyes focused in at the glass in the background of the swirling air, and he almost backed away in adrenaline shocked surprise as he recognized the contours of a canine’s face behind thick layers of dust and filth. His young heart pushed forcefully against its bone cage. He almost thought that she looked as shocked as he surely felt, but when he had gathered his wits enough to start trailing for signs of her mood; she smiled at him, making it a fact that he too had been discovered. A step was taken backwards and he lifted his muzzle to the side, away from the fair face in the window. The young Prince had not been given time to ready himself for company. It was a mental state that had to be switched for him to be able to deal well with a stranger, but it had been denied him. Ruby darted back to her face to harvest truth to build up under his sudden suspicion. The natural blush residing on her muzzle suggested something unfavourable; that the two of them were related by blood.

Leaning forwards, he did all but press his nose against the dirty glass. No scent was allowed to penetrate the window, but he found it strange that something concrete as glass could be seen through. This was unfamiliar technology that he did not understand--could not understand before it was explained to him. Her face could look like a coyote’s, but he was not certain. It was the splash of colour on her muzzle that made him draw his conclusions. Her voice was distorted as it broke through the transparent obstacle, and the male’s ears had to move forward and away from his pale gold skull to distinguish the lonely word she spoke. Hello. The youth’s muzzle wrinkled slightly and barely allowed another short moment to pass before he turned his back to the canine reflection behind all the dirt and escaped deeper into the building. He did not flee, but he was reluctant to have a conversation through glass. Deep scarlet settled on the lit frame serving as both entrance and exit, and he padded over to the opening, turning his face to the side in pursuit of the woman.

She had not yet had the time to trail the building’s corner to be found by his gaze, and the young Lykoi prince knew that he partly hoped that this was all there was to it; that she would continue on without investigating the boy behind the glass. He did not like his heart’s current pace, and made a note to draw his breath in gentle, calm rivers of air until the traces of adrenaline would ease up a bit. There was nothing to be afraid of, and he knew with dire certainty that he had never laid eyes on the young adult before. Light blonde tail rubbed against the back of a leg, but he did his best to empty his frame for signs of stress. Ruby framed with lovely lilac continued to search for her movement, though he noticed quickly that he did not possess much patience for this. This could prove to serve as a lovely distraction, but Itachi did not immediately see opportunities as unexpected situations rose to interrupt his day’s pace. A young soul still, he remained relatively wary of strangers, and especially when he suspected they were a part of the clan he had been banished from recently.

The male’s scent did no longer carry the heavy aromas of salt and ashes. Instead, there was moist earth and rock. She would not know who he was.
