There was a stark contrast between them. As much as she felt oddly drawn to the boy, the lovechild could in no way deny that she also felt repelled, like the flip-side of a magnet. His gaze was entrancing. The girl had never seen such a bewildering hue before, and her appreciation for the rare palette left her lingering still at the corner of the house. He didn't appear particularly charmed by her appearance, but never mind that. She was determined to rid herself of this strange and unfamiliar clamminess, and if she had to fake a degree of niceties, then so be it. Neither sister was here to judge the lapse in hippie demeanor - The silvery girl had always been a little outlandish when it came to the peaceful lifestyle. She couldn't help the rare streaks of selfishness. China enjoyed getting what she wanted, and right now, she wanted this boy's company.

If that was to prove to herself that she wasn't afraid of him, then none would be the wiser.

There was something weird going on with his face. Was that a - Ah, yes, a smile. She smiled back, gingerly. Clearly, nobody had taught the boy how to lie properly with his expression, though she had to credit him for trying. However, at her apology, the poor fellow seized up again. A wave of confusion lulled over her active mind. Had she insulted him? These strangers, so easily offended! Even bewitched as she was by the boy's strange sunset eyes, China managed to hide the frown that threatened to cloud her porcelain features. Long limbs crossed about her chest, absently hugging pert breasts to keep in some of the warmth, to keep out some of the unnatural chill that threatened to crawl into her bird-hollow bones.

For a simple youth, she had a surprisingly keen view of the world. His soft voice shook it slightly. China wanted, for a desperate moment, to be enamored with the boy - But something held her back. A warning unheeded. That soft voice, though... And he seemed so harmless! She took a step forward, the movement punctuated sharply by a crackle of frost underfoot. "Oh," Lapis Lazuli traversed the small mountainside, before wandering back to him, "Me neither," A hasty but sweet smile again. She was no threat to him, and wanted him to relax that piercing gaze, so it would stop twisting her guts into knots. Lowered satellites lifted to a respectable height, elegant atop her pretty head. Slanted eyes looked past the pale boy, into the darkened interior of the shack. "Do you live here, love?"
