wc: 380 Woot! Accepted Wink

The newcomer certainly had an odd scent about her, but that would go away with time. Naniko's own scent was most prevalent in the border from her constant marking of the area, and the other two would likely pick up some of that smell as they re-entered the heart of the territory. The pack was fairly new but it already had its own new and unique scent. The cave had its own smell about it. Naniko watched what the newcomer was doing carefully, watching for her reaction. Hmm. She seemed to take the question well and didn't refuse their ritual. Very good. Fiachra held her paw out to the leader and she took it, making a tiny cut on her largest paw pad and pressing her hand against it tightly. There.

She released the paw and gave the female a deep nod of welcome, closing her eyes for a moment. Her hands were littered with halfway-healed cuts and scars now, but they weren't too bothersome to her. She had a balm at home that she would put on them to help them heal without infection. They'd just had a big influx of members lately. "Hmm? Shifting? Yes. We call it a virus...some are born with it and others get it over their lifetimes. It's good to know that you can shift..I think that wolves who can shift can offer Anathema a bit more than those who cannot, but it's not a requirement."

"Well, now. Itachi, please show our newest Zepar the ropes. Find her some place to sleep for tonight where she'll be safe and warm. Fiachra, the Zepar rank is the subordinate rank here. Once you've been here for a while and have proven that you're going to stick around and not turn tail and abandon your duties, you'll be able to pick what sort of a pack duty you'd like to do and move up from there." Their ranks were simple to her, but to an outsider they could seem complex. Having finished accepting the new wolf and not being sure what else to say, she finished. "I'll be seeing you both around. I'm off." She turned back toward the pack lands after a quick nod to both of them, disappearing into the fog of the mountain top.
