The work was hard and the voyage was long

ooc;; aww thank you! shall we go with two-man? ^^ I am on a role today!

Though there was quite obviously something funny looking about the man he had just met, Saul was never one to judge through physical appearance. Of course, if everyone judged by physical appearance he probably would be on his own by now. He'd arrived at Dahlia de Mai's borders three months ago starving and exhausted. Anyone could have mistaken him for a beggar or a run that wasn't worth the hassle. Saul was glad that Bris had found him and taken him in almost straight away. There had been something so beautiful about his aunt in that moment that he would never forget. Of course, she had her own daughter to think about now and although Saul visited the two often he felt as though he were being pushed out by his own family. It was one of the reasons he had decided to move out.

Green eyes caught the sight of the dog's hands, whittling away at the wood of a long stick. A walking stick immediatly popped into Saul's mind but the man could easily have been making something else. Cinnamon backed ears perked up and cupped the words that came from the gruff man- it was more obvious now that he was an older gentleman. Saul allowed his tail to drop, though his ears and eyes remained alert and watchful. Just because he was an old man and appeared to come in peace, didnt mean he wasn't capable of bad things. He had offered his hand to the other side of the two-man saw and Saul placed the other side in the dogs hands. Moving over to the deadened tree, Saul placed it at a reasonable spoke and began to cut, hoping the other man would follow his lead.

"Ambrose... An interesting name. My name is Saul Stormbringer. A traveller eh?"

Saul commented before listening to the rest of what the dog had to say. Though Dahlia had a steady population, there were wolves coming and going all the time. It was simply the laws of nature that tbere was always someone there to replace the person who had left. And therefore they had a steady population. Still, he didnt think there was anyone older than Conor or Saluce- it was quite a young pack. To have a golden oldy would be interesting, to say the very least. A smile crept over his lips as he cast another look at the dog.

"Dahlia is a nice place to live, thats for sure. Conor is a kind and just leader and we live in times of peace."

He offered, sounding wise and older at the same time. Though only nearly ten months old Saul had recently excellerated through the ranks and ended up as Jager, which had surprised the man. But he was considered a man now, despite not yet getting past his first actual birthday. Ears had picked up what the old man had said about a coastline and Saul smiled. There were so many things that Dahlia had it was hard to describe. They were so large- one of the largest in Nova Scotia, that their borders encompassed two entire towns, one and a quarter forests (the quarter of which the two men were meeting now), cemetaries and vineyards and rivers leading to the sea. Saul could see no reason why the dog did not follow him home right there and then.

"We have much more than just a coastline, Ambrose. The coastline has a harbor still as well as two stretches of beach. There is a small island just off the coast that we have claimed. We have two towns, a church and cemetary, a hospital, vineywards and rivers leading to the ocean."

He explained briefly while pulling through a heavily knotted piece of the trunk. His ears had also caught the mans reassurance that he had not come too close to the borders and Saul nodded his approval at the man. Although much younger, Saul still had a higher rank than he did. A small smile escaped his determine-set lips as the dog asked him whether he could ask some questions. He nodded before opening his mouth once more.

"Of course- go ahead."

Came his honeyed reply. They were about a quarter of the way through the trunk now and Saul paused for a moment to survey their handiwork. He could build at least three outside walls with this amount of wood at his disposal. A grin came to his lips as he waited for the questions to begin.
