The grotto was cold and damp, and it likely was not the best place for the pregnant woman to be sitting, but there she was. Night would be coming soon and the air was cold as it was, and being the middle of the winter, it was not a good time for Princess to be out and sitting so close to freezing waters. However, the young woman had been out all day, and though she knew Haven was likely going to worry about her, she needed time to be by herself.
She sat against the wall of the cave with her knees drawn up against her ever-growing belly, and the whole image looked bizarre with the dark blue sweater dress she was wearing in hopes of keeping warm. Her hair, though normally well-kept and pristinely done up, fell over her shoulders in knotted ringlets. The fur beneath her morose golden eyes was stained with the remnants of the tears she had been crying all day. They were the reason that she was avoiding home.
Becoming a mother was meant to be a joyful occasion, and though she had been very happy recently, the woman was spiralling downwards. Perhaps it was because of the hormones she was dealing with, but the young woman had been crying in the cave all day. Haven had done all he could to reassure her long ago that she would never become like her own mother, but the fears and concerns had become overwhelming for her once more.
Princess sniffed loudly, using the back of her hand to wipe away some of the tears that were threatening to fall once more. A small sob shook her shoulders, and she exhaled shakily, trying to calm herself. There did not seem to be anything she could say or do for herself to ease the intense pain of her own mother's failures, and she feared so terribly that she would become just like Tokyo. If anyone were to find her here, she doubted she would even hear their approach.
