The dark male dug into his meal, eagerly tearing mouthfuls from the now dead rabbit. With each mouthful the dull ache of hunger began to fade until it was gone, leaving nothing but scraps on the remains of the rabbit and a satisfied wolf. Nearby he could hear the sounds of someone or something approaching, not to close but definitely heading in his direction. Irritation sparked within him; had someone smelt his kill and decided to try and steal it? Reaching down he snagged one last bite from his meal and swallowed it, licking his lips to clear away any mess. Once happy that he was finished with his meal he reluctantly turned to locate whatever was approaching him.

Up ahead was a small brown and white ball of fluff, the size of the newcomer greatly resembled a puppy but the female seemed to be an adult. The sight of the smaller creature humoured him and he found himself resisting the urge to laugh at the strangers’ small form. So instead he simply looked at her and rose a questioningly eyebrow at her. The little one approached in an overly happy way, seeming to confident for one of her stature; did she not see how weak and feeble she was? Could she not see how easy it would be for him to kill her? Pity spilled though him and he let out a light sigh, he was in no mood to be making nice with such a character. Canines who acted happy when they were weak easy prey were lost causes and should be ignored.

Twisting his body he began to turn away to leave, but then he remembered where he was. This was Anathema territory and the small one was by the border and so he could not leave unless he confirmed her reasons for approaching. His eyes scanned over the female, but she was so small and weak looking, could she really cause any trouble if he were to simply leave.

There was no way of knowing, which meant that he would have to deal with her, which was definitely not what he had been planning to spend his day doing. Sighing again, but louder this time he let the female introduce herself as Shayna.

“I’m Alaki, from Anathema” he simply responded, pausing to consider his next words. “So, why do you approach our borders Shayna?”.
