"You did what you could and that's all that matters." He commented quietly, nuzzling the side of her head lightly. "If you tried to carry her then all of you might have.." His voice trailed off, not wanting to say or even think the rest. He had been nervous about her staying behind in the first place, he would've been devastated to lose her. Though, somewhere in the back of his mind, he wondered if he should have ignored her request for him to not follow. Maybe he would've been able to help get them all out, Dierdre included, and the pups woulds till have a mother. "Besides, they have us and Lucifer and Deuce to look after them now. I think they'll be just fine." He assured her quietly, but before he even managed to finish speaking, Naniko had drifted off to sleep. Conri spent quite a while holding her against him, watching her, before he finally moved. He was careful to lay her back with him, placing her head against his chest and shoulder before finally allowing himself to drift off. |
