Waking up had been a blur. It was instinct that kicked in that told her to get away from whatever was harming the land. Her motherly instinct, however, told her to find Beppe. He had not been there when she woke up from her nap, but she called him several times and tried to follow his scent. When she caught it, it threw her off guard because of the smoke inhaling into her lungs and disabling her for a moment. Several times she called his name until she was unable to stay any longer before it was getting difficult to breathe and see. At one point she collapsed, pain in her leg and lungs and eyes and any other part of her body that would take in the smoke.
Later did her Fight option in her Fight or Flight process kick in and she got herself up and, ignoring the pain in her body, kept going. Her screams for her son would fluctuate from whispers to screams until she was in the clear. Coughing and shaking herself of debris and ash and smoke, she tried to find the scent for her son when she heard voices. Rubbing her nose and quickly walking into an area of safety, she heaved. "Beppe?!" she shouted a final time before stopping for a rest.
