Snow slowly fell down from the sky above landing on the snow that had landed the night before. There was a good five inches now and the day was promising more. It seemed that every time Valkyrie showed up it was snowing or there was snow already on the ground, but she had grown up here, so it didn’t bother her much. The prey, however, hid whenever it showed up and they seemed harder to catch then last year. Valkyrie was under weight and skinner then she had ever been. She could blame the winter and her poor decision to become a loner for this. Less the two feet away from her was a skull, a wolf skull, and she was well aware that it marked the end of the free lands and the beginning of the Inferni lands. It didn’t scare her much. She had been around them as a pup and the scariness just seemed to fade away with time. She still found the act of setting skulls up at the border disgusting, though, and thought it was highly unnecessary. Maybe that was just because she was on the other side of the skulls this time.

She shifted slightly from foot to foot as she tried to stay warm in the cold, morning air. It was cold, well under freezing, and she was beginning to catch cold and her clothing was helping much. She was in her optime form and, as always, was wearing her simple light brown dress that hung loosely around her legs. It wasn’t made to keep you warm and was simply for looks, but it was the only thing she was able to find since most were out looking for there on clothing this time a year. Since her dress couldn’t protect her from the snow, she would have to hope that behind that border there was empty shelter. She didn’t care whether it was a cave or house as long it was warm and clear of snow and the faster she could get to it was better. She raised her head towards the sky and howled calling for anyone in the pack.
