ooc;; once again, you guys are amazing!! <33333

Sharp canines had plunged into the doe's neck, slicing as though through butter. His teeth blocked the flow of blood for a moment before the puncture marks became larger, then to coppery iron taste filled his mouth and nose. It was a good smell but the blood was always a distraction from the meat that he was still attached to. Of course, Teddy hadn't though that sending himself after the smaller of the two imjured deer would be a disadvantage to him- he hadnt accounted for the fact that he was built like a brick shithouse. So when he'd grasped the deer's neck and they had plunged into the snow, he had been a bit puzzled. Still, the struggling mass attatched to his teeth was beginning to tire.

The blinding pain in his leg was ignored but the young warrior knew the deer's sharp hoof had pierced the skin on his hind leg. It was nothing serious, a flesh wound that would be fine when wrapped up. But it angered the black man as he gripped harder around the doe's windpipe. A grunt was given as he saw the second black form plunge towards them- Larkspur was quick to come to Teddy's aide as planned. He didnt have time to look at how the other group were going. The deer gave another squeal as Larkspur got control of its flailing legs and now the could concentrate on actually killing the thing. His grip on the neck wasn't tight enough.

Teddy let go for a fraction of a second, untangling his jaws from the rough brown skin of the deer. It bucked and jerked, but like a vipers strike he reattached himself once more. He could feel straight away that he had a much better hold and the deer gave a final lash of the leg that Larkspur held before its eyes rolled back in its head and it heaved an exasperated sigh as its life left it. Teddy couldnt help the instinct that took hold. With a growl he shook his head vigorously, thoroughly destroying the deers windpipe before he convinced himself to let go. A chuckle almost threatened to take over as he thought how badly he'd wanted to tear the deer apart- he really needed to get in a fight. That or get laid.

"Well done Larkspur... your swiftness was a blessing. You may take the first bit of meat for your children."

He spoke quickly, turning away so that he wasn't tempted to pull rank and ravenously go into the deer. Larkspur had children to look after and those children were the future of Anathema. Therefore, he could have the first cut of meat. It was as simple as that. Instead he looked towards the other group who appeared to have taken the similar attack strategy as suggested. Nyx made a clean leap towards the throat and latched on, recieving a kick to the ribs that must have hurt. Teddy had missed Liev's kick to the face, but he could see the determination with which those three went at the larger deer. His own kill had been successful and it was clear the other doe was going down. If Teddy had been a happier soul, he might even have smiled at this point.
