The ripping and tearing from behind notified that Larkspur had taken up his offer of the first cut. He could hear the harsh chewing and swallowing necessary when feeding pups- they had soft teeth and werent able to tug at the meat like they were. Of course, now that the deer's belly lay wide open, the coppery blood spilling onto the churned up snow and grass beneath, Teddy could feel his hunger raging in his stomach. He almost turned and snatched the deer back from the black and white man before the other groups antics brought him back to focus. He was very tempted to go and help them- the deer wasnt gving up easy, that was for sure. There were many kicks to the face, the deer lashing out and catching all three of them at some point or another. It reminded him that he had an open flesh wound on his left back leg. It was nothing serious and the cold numbed it. But it did give him an excuse to go and see Demi later.

Nyx latched onto the does neck while Alaki and Liev brought it to its knees by systematically taking out its legs. It was a good approach, although Teddy and Larkspurs had gone quicker. Perhaps it was because their kill had been smaller, but the larger doe seemed unwiling to let go. Nyx didnt have a good enough grip to go for the killing bite so with a desperate look to Liev, the Russian dealt the final blow. From where he was standing he could just about hear the Russian give the first cuts to his team. It was the right thing to do, even if it went against nature to do so. Wolves were inherently savage with their kills and therefore it was less likely to find this kind of behaviour in the wild.

Turning back when Larkspur spoke, Teddy gave the man a nod. He was gruff and harsh, but it was clear he cared for his children greatly. The deer lay ravaged in the snow, most of the higher-protein organs removed to sustain his pups. Thats what Teddy had wanted to happen, but it sucked that he couldnt have a little of the kidney. It was his favourite. Larkspur had left the heart though and with a growl Teddy dived for it. He wrenched the blood-soaked muscle from the deer chest, tearing it up with sharp incisors. It was delicious as it slid down his throat and he gave a hearty sigh when it had all settled in his stomach. Finally registering what Larkspur had said, Teddy looked down at the doe. There was far too much meat here for him and despite his nature he wasnt selfish. Shaking his head he looked up at the man.

"No, its okay. I'll take it to the common room and let everyone else have some..."

He said with a nod. He was sure Scorpius and Juju could use some food and Naniko would probably be grateful that she didnt have to do it herself. With a nod and the quick lick of his muzzle Teddy shifted to his optime form and picked the torn apart deer up in his arms. Glancing back at the other three wolves he gave a nod in their direction.

"You do as you please with your kill, but this one's going back to the caves for everyone ele. Good hunting everyone."

His praise was short and gruff, pretty much summing up most of Teddy's words. Still with a stretch of his muscles and a final nod in Larkspurs direction, Teddy set off towards Anathema's main den site, hoping his deer wouldnt completely go to waste.
