It was strange. Even though the women before him had been the one to initially call out to him, she now seemed somewhat hesitant to reply. Panic struck him as he recalled his previous words; had he said something overly offensive or mean. Nothing seemed to have been mean; he’d even said them in a nice voice. So what was causing the hesitation? He titled his head to the side as he contemplated plausible reasons which could explain the female’s caution.

Curious as he was, he was not in the mood to pry into another’s business and so he dropped it, satisfied that the female eventually replied. In response to her words he couldn’t help but smile, since she’d practically thrown his words back at him. “Aye, not bad at all”. And this time he decided to elaborate by giving the female a shameless once over. It wasn’t that he was particularly interested in her, more so he got a kick out of seeing how others responded to certain baits, it was like a game; if they didn’t respond to this, try that and keep trying to you get a response.

Patiently he watched to see if she would comment on his actions, a smug grin in place as if to tempt her to take the bait. His eyes remained fixed upon her as she closed the distance between them, his muscles initially tensing as she moved closer, only to relax when she stopped at a comfortable distance.

Dark, pierced ears perked up and listened to her continued speech. So her name is Galilee. Yet, her name was not what held his interest, no, the mention of old lands was what had intrigued him, they sounded interesting.

“If you don’t mind me asking” he paused and leaned back, supporting his weight with his arms, “What brings you all the way out here? On your own to boot!”.
