When the girl responded to his question about her identity, the man was not surprised.

"Talitha Lykoi. You know my family." she said, her tone confident and sure.

He gave a curt nod, and replied with equal confidence, "It happens that I do."

Then, as the seconds quickly passed without a return greeting, Kesho's brow furrowed. He knew that Kaena and Gabriel, and probably both, were within the ground today. Strange that even one hadn't replied to his short but obvious message. Perhaps they're sleeping or something... he thought vaguely, the man's red eyes darting around the forest again briefly. Hmm. Well, there wasn't much else to do if no one was answering. Kesho supposed he could escort her to one of them. Normally the man may have been doubtful as to a stranger's true identity; normally he might be suspicious of being lied to. But this girl looked so much like Gabriel that he was not able to doubt her.

"Come on, I'll take you through to find them." the man said, his voice a brief grumble. He was not thrilled to be taking on this task, but he had no choice. The older man would certainly prefer this to any sort of talking to he might get from Gabriel if he turned the woman away. With a sigh, he motioned for her to follow him as he turned and stepped off towards the direction from which he'd come from and to which she was headed. "Stay close to me," he instructed simply. Surely she'd be able to heed that.

The Hastati's nose began it's work as they walked, his two-legged form feeling suddenly strange, though he neglected shifting in order to conserve his energy. He didn't really have any clue where Kaena or Gabriel might be, and so he also could not guess how much time it might take to reach one of them.
