There seemed to be an almost constant fog over certain parts of the mountain, an effect that was observed by the alabaster female that sat atop one of the higher peaks. Were the patches of fog clouds that had come down too low? Or was it because the mountain was elevated above the ground that the mists gathered there? Such things interested her; Naniko’s mind was always working over things that she didn’t understand, puzzling over the many mysteries of the world around her.

She’d had enough pondering for one night, though, and began her descent down the side of Halcyon toward the area in which she had discovered the hot spring. They had recently uncovered an escape route near the one spring and she had been considering taking a dip in the warm waters to refresh herself for a few days now. Between making sure that Scorpius wasn’t getting into any more trouble, watching for any conflict with Inferni, watching the borders, and keeping track of the pack itself she was stretched pretty thin.

The Angela made her way toward the spring and found it after a half hour or so of searching. It was just where she remembered. And beyond the boulders that surrounded it was the exit that they had discovered; perfect. She didn’t want to stay out in the cold air with wet fur. The shifted female dipped her toes into the water to test it first and found it to be just the right temperature. She slid down into the water, holding onto a few roots that stuck out along the edge. There were a few rocks around the edge and she found one to sit on, putting her head back and closing her eyes. Ahhhh, relaxation.
