Word Count :: 331 I love your writing. :o Sorry it took so long to get a reply up here, I must've posted it on Twitter three or four times. >_> But now you get a Sie! <3

Eris had been practicing. She had not been any sort of hunter while living in Eterne; with everything provided for her, the coyote woman had no need to go out and fetch her own food. She kept most of the lonesome practice of the skills he had been attempting to impart on her away from the packlands and out of the sight of any potential packmembers. Her inadequacy and ineptness where so many things were concerned was not something the sable-shaded hybrid wished to share with many others -- she considered it too embarrassing to share with even Larkspur.

Thus far, the wolf had been hunting in her Lupus form, as she did not yet wish to tackle Optime hunting. It seemed much harder, anyway. Her children were already quite able to be left by themselves for some time, and Larkspur was there anyway to watch over them. She did not worry much about them; instead, she was so concentrated on the small rabbit several yards in front of her. Hesitant and crouched, the Tuyul did not notice the other canine coming up behind her until the rabbit did, and by the time Eris realized what happened, the small animal was done, disappeared into a burrow entrance somewhere in the thin blanket of snow still clinging to the ground in patches.

There was no annoyance in the sable-shaded hybrid's movements or face as she turned around to face the other canine -- instead, there was surprise painted on her face, as she had not expected company -- her immediate thought was that it might be a packmate in Anathema. Chartreuse eyes lit instead on a stranger, bearing no scent marking of a pack. “Hello,” she said, curiosity in her greeting. Company was not an altogether unwanted surprise, though she was more wary than she might have been if caught by another from Anathema. There was only momentary embarrassment there for her; here there was the potential danger of an unknown loner.
