There it was again. It couldn't be his imagination, some one was speaking. The body stirred again, whining softly. He wanted to run, towards whatever.. whoever it was. Hagged breaths started up again, his small body shaking furiously.
One could explain someone leaving consciousness as an out-of-body experience. Range didn't want to die. He didn't feel as if he had accomplished enough.. "Melee." At this time, Gideon was no longer on his mind. He was safe. He had to be. "Daddy is smart.." It wasn't that his sister was not intelligent.. Just that she was more of a wanderer- Just like himself. "What if she left through the door?" His thoughts were spoken in a more panicky voice now. No longer focusing on himself, but worrying about the safety of his sibling.
It's impossible to say how much strength it took for Range to hold himself up. He tried again and again to call back out to the voice.. But it seemed impossible. Small yips emerged from his throat, hopefully making up for his lack of being mobile. It felt as if his feet were cemented to the cold ground, awaiting frost bite.
