"Range!" A cry of concern for the miraculously discovered soul escaped Siku's freezing lips, her eyes locating the puppy at the same moment as Conor. The she-wolf's heart raced as she neared the strange yet precious pup, paws slightly unsure but quickly coming closer as Siku did not hesitate to join her leader. Her vitally warm body crouched on the other side of Range, Siku's niveous furred body gently pressed against what was left exposed of the young wolf. White muzzle immediately in the pup's face, Siku's relatively warm nose prodded as lightly as possible all the most fragile parts of the child; his own nose, his ears, and then slowly his paws as she was careful not to rub or place pressure on any of him. Thick rounded ears keeping track of Range's slow breathing, Siku was aware that the young pup was exhausted and warming slower than Siku wished was possible. He had gone from trembling violently to becoming too weak to move. 'Oh, no..'

"He's barely shivering. Don't let him sleep or he might not wake up.." Fear turned Siku's passionate voice into a panicky tremble as she wrapped an arm further around the small soul, emotions boiling inside the girl still young herself. He was so, so cold. Siku's own body began to tremble slightly as she felt her own heat finally sinking into the weak pups fur, and in reaction all the worried she-wold could do was bury her face in Range's neck and breath into his fur. Warm wagged breaths silenced in the unforgiving wind, Siku glanced up at her Leader as he spoke just above the howling.

Siku moved her face around momentarily to access their situation fully, her nose twitching in the sharp cold as she scanned the drifts around them. She could barely see, but memory lead her to assume not too far behind them was a fallen tree she almost tripped over earlier. The petite she-wolf lifted herself to confirm the nearly hidden stump in the swirling snow. She could already feel the warmth she gave to the pup being absorbed by the biting wind and lowered herself down again to speak to Conor is a calm voice she hoped would be heard over the troubling weather. "Well, Sir... Our best bet is making a shelter to keep him warm until we can safely travel. Back there I saw a tree trunk nearly buried, if you can keep Range warm I may dig the three of us a burrow against it; under and away from the wind. Then... We wait.."

Siku closed her eyes and laid against the only two other souls for what she thought was miles around. An almost peaceful cold soothed the woman in a calm rest, shivers occasionally wracking her body as waited for Conor's reply. At the same time the Dahlian hoped and wished for the wolf she considered a baby in the freezing night to stir. 'Please, please, whoever you are Range, don't let our first encounter be our last. You're so tiny..'

Siku's soft heart nearly broke as it hammered inside her chest, against Range's own chilled body. She knew she would dig, or freeze trying if that meant keeping the pup safe. But what to think of it? Range didn't even know her. Yet never had the white woman felt obligated to protect a dwindling life so fiercely. Siku wondered tiredly if perhaps she wasn't able to fully comprehend the meaning of being in a pack, until the moment every fibre of her being was ready to fight for it. A sense of belonging finally sparked within Siku, and though she was beginning to freeze she knew she was in the right place for once.

'The hardest fights are always with Mother Nature.. Oh Mother.. The cold.. Reminds me of you.'
