As the winter winds litter

Before his mother could answer him, a hand came on his shoulder and the boy almost jumped, but he had visibly stiffened. Silvano relaxed once he turned his head and saw his uncle, Jazper, behind him, who had begun to explain what was going on. A storm? A.. storm? A storm! Silvano suddenly felt a burst of fear in his heart, but also his childishness still gave him a little bubble of excitement. His fear was for the destruction, damage, and horror that came from a storm. But his excitement was for the snow that was sure to fall. It would be most fun to play in, especially with a couple of his cousins. He could romp with them, and briefly numb the pain from the missing Denali, and the fact his sister was still asleep. Oh Denali.. how was he going to manage out there in a storm, of all things? His brother.. what was he going to do?

There was no time to fall into a melancholy now though, there was work to do. Silvano smiled broadly as he heard his father, seeing him bringing joy. But he did give the expected grumble of protest at his father's hands on his head, but he was still grinning as he readjusted his curls out of his eyes. He loved his family, it was true, and it felt like he had not seen much of the man. Maybe he was helping with the pack, since Savina had been focusing her attentions here, with her daughter. But it did not matter, Kansas was here to help now and that was all there was to it. After this, once Artemis woke up and Denali was found, Silvano figured his parents needed a vacation of sorts, to go away for a few days to just relax. That would have to wait until warmer weather though, the boy figured. It was not so romantic with snow on the way and children lying ill at home.

" 'Allo Dad," greeted the Sadira boy, tail wagging slightly behind him. Calming quickly, the boy shot his eyes to the materials his mother had collected. "Do we.. do we have enough?" It did not matter to him, he'd help out in any way he could, but he did not want the windows to break. After all, they had no idea how to make it anew and salvaging windowpanes would be, pardoning the pun, a pain in the rear. Silvano glanced at the darkening sky; it was distant yet. But not for long. "Maybe we should start in Artie's room, just to get it over with now? And Aunt Ghita's with the pups?" Those kidlings were far more important.
