This is the OLD WOMAN IN PERIL thread which occurs on the morning of February 6th. +3

The snow had begun to fall during the day. Gabriel had thought little of it—he had seen many winters, after all. It was during the night that things had changed. He had retreated inside when the wind began to cut like daggers, striking his exposed skin with sharp claws and freezing bite. There was no reason to stay outside anymore, which had led the sable-brushed Aquila to take his chances inside. At least within his large cave there was no wind, no snow; it was not unreasonably cold either. Reading by firelight, sipping old whiskey to warm himself, the coy-wolf had fallen asleep with the wind howling outside.

It was one such gust that woke him hours later, screaming outside of his cave entrance. With a grunt, the Aquila rose and made his way to the entrance. He balked. Outside the snow had covered nearly the whole of the plain-like area below his des, and visibility had dropped to the point that he could not see the tree-line that marked the far edge of Inferni’s territory. Startled by such a sight, he made his way out of his den. His cave had been chosen with harsh weather and attack in mind, and the entrance was clear of snow until he made his way to the overhang above it. Nearly everything within sight was buried in the white stuff, which was still blowing about in that ever-biting wind.

Gabriel shook his fur and began to make his way along the cave system, now recognizing that such weather could be dangerous. It was nearly to his shoulders in some places, and he was far taller than most of Inferni. Subconsciously he made his way to Kaena’s cave first, and what greeted him was horrible. Snow had buried the entrance completely, and as he pawed at it roughly, the Aquila realized exactly how deep it w as. He did not panic yet, but he recognized the danger here was great; she could suffocate if left in there too long. The coy-wolf whined lowly, and then let out a series of braying barks, alerting her to his presence. When he heard noise within, he lifted his nose into the cold air and howled for help.

Almost as quickly, he began digging furiously in the snow.
