It was not by chance that Gabriel had come, barreling through the snow like a black-streaked bullet. Above him, a constant shadow, the raven flew and led him towards the commotion. Wolf, Marlowe had warned, and the urgency of such a thing was not lost of the Aquila. He was paranoid by nature, and constantly thought of the dangers that would come from attack. As it turned out, he was not far from the truth. As Gabriel ran through the powder he saw Kesho strike out, saw him snap at the black hybrid that was protecting a wolf. To make things worse, the bitch smelled of Anathema.
Fury poured over him, narrowing his vision. Gabriel slowed as he came to the older coyote’s side, eyes burning. His fur had risen all on end and increased his size, but the hatred on his face was most terrible. This was not the first time a member had betrayed him, but to see it done so brashly, especially after the death of that boy, that was unforgivable. “Leave Inferni, now,” his voice rose to a roar, and he took a stiff-legged step forward. If there was any sense in the pair, they’d leave—Gabriel did not know Kesho well, but he knew that the old man hadn’t gotten to Hydra for nothing.
