Start to make it better

It was still hard to understand and accept what had happened merely days ago. No canine lives had been lost however, and this was what settled the autumn shaded alpha as he paced along these well known paths through Dahlia’s tranquil territory. Days were busier than usual, for Conor’s home had been partly destroyed in the wild blizzard. Things could probably be rebuilt, but the alpha, young as he was, held no current skills in rebuilding a home. This fact did not discourage him, of course, but it was a disadvantage he was well aware of and disliked.

For now the male believed he was solidly alone, and allowed himself to enjoy this breath of fresh air without creatures surrounding him. Never had the male lived in solitude—he had always been surrounded by canines of various ages, and things had not changed since they had found shelter in Saluce’s home. Things would remain this way as well, because he had a family now, a child that was his own and the lovely female that was his daughter’s mother. It was nice to get away sometimes though, although there seemed to be silent whispers stalking the area whenever known life was absent around him.

The snow remained deep, but the male always appreciated exercise where he could get it, even if it eventually turned into an amount that turned it into an unhealthy burden instead. Perhaps he liked keeping himself busy so that he could not ponder about fears that never quite seemed to leave him be.
