Out of the corner of his eye Saul could see the little girls mismatched eyes light up when he shifted down to all fours. He had been similar when he was very young. As he grew he first became more scared of the phenomenom and then frustrated that he was so close to the goal but not yet able to grow fingers and toes and stand upright. Eclipse had a long way to go, but eventually she would get there. He gave a soft chuckle as she squeezed her eyes shut, hoping that she would be upright when she opened them. There was a small flash of disappointment when she realised she was still on the ground before her puppy brain erased it. A happy grin followed and Saul rubbed his chin against the top of her head in a sign of affection. She spoke once more and Saul chuckled softly.
"Well then, Miss Eclipse... You are very brave to have gone up the tree after it! Weren't you afraid it would come down and eat you?"
His voice grew darker at the last sentence and he ducked his head under her belly to carefully and playfully nip at her belly. For a moment he was reminded of Siku nipping at him and his heart flipped over. He would have to talk to Conor or Bris about that soon- it was really starting to concern him. He didnt know what it was but it was connected to Siku and it often wasnt a very pleasent feeling. Unease washed through him but he pushed it aside, rubbing the top of his head against her underbelly, attempting to flip her on her back and tickle her some more. The child was a delight and she needed all the company she could get. She didnt know about the sister who had died and none of tbe Stormbringer clan were going to tell her. It wasn't something she needed to know just yet.
