Looking for a Savior

There was still a black charred smell that clang to the air, heavily as if to remind someone of what was lost. Blue eyes looked upon the half charred building, the once proud tree was nothing but black coals, the heat long gone but the evidence of its existence slowly crumbling and returning to the earth. The shop was a mess, tools, swords and other items. As the tall male walked along the remains his head still bandaged and the plight of his memory loss still evident. Items that once held meaning only served as visual aids to reinforce what he had lost, memory and a purpose. From what he could piece together this was his shop, it was also how he was in this condition. Somehow it all seemed so distant, even as if another person worked there entirely, how could he ever settle down in once place.

A weary hand rose up to rub his temple, headache returning. Memories would come in jumbled non-linear pieces; the act itself caused him great pain. His brain wasn’t used to having to deal with what seemed like different personalities. From what he had been told, he had taught several of the youngsters in the pack when he had first arrived here, he had been respectable. Apparently that Saluce had found something here. This Saluce only had the remains of a promised land burned and shattered, with no link to the people who made up the land he had called home for some months.

For a few moments the dark gray man stood among the ashes, eyes looking over the scene, finally his legs moved, eyes looking around the strewn rubble hoping to find something he remembered. With a sigh he almost gave up but a soft glint in the sunlight caught his attention. Bending down, hands rummaging through the dust and debris before finally a dagger was pulled from the mess. His father’s dagger sat in his hand, the hilt almost ruined, leather burned away but the blade still remained. Blackened and charred but it was still there and for a moment it was the item he seemed to need. Maybe by some miracle having it would help him through.
