Today was indeed the day. Several sleepless nights had found Kemo wandering aimlessly in and around AniWaya's territories, dreams of his parents attacking him or his pack running him out, and of course he didn't think anybody could blame him. After all, he had no idea of the reason why he was forced to leave, apart from his mother attacking him, but he would have never imagined her attacking him. What could have possibly been the reason for that? What happened after he left? Who would run the pack when his father passed on? Were his parents ok? These questions had been plaguing him ever since Ralla had told him they would be leaving to go back to the Moon Tribe's lands. Of course he could only imagine what she was feeling like at the moment, though he had a feeling they were in the same boat, so to speak, at least when it came to regarding their fears of returning. After all, she had run, how would her pack respond to her return? At least she had him to support her and her to support him, so they would be able to face this together, as it should be.

Ever since he had joined this pack, AniWaya, he hadn't really felt as welcomed as he thought he would. Sure everybody was busy with the aftermath of the snowstorm and he had helped out as much as he could, but the only person that had truly made him feel welcome was Ralla, and even she seemed far too busy to spend time with him. He could only imagine what everyone was going through at the moment however, so he contented himself with the fact that given the chance and barring all of this mayhem, he may have received the welcome he would have expected, but for now he threw himself in wherever he could, helping to rebuild and refurbish wherever he could.

Lately however, he had been somewhat withdrawn from the spotlight, his mind lost in the thoughts of returning home, and today was the day he would make those thoughts a reality, to face those nightmares and worries head on. Walking toward the Great Fire, as they had agreed to meet there before their departure, Kemo immediately picked up Ralla's scent, and a smile lit up his face as he remembered she would be with him and he with her on their journey. Returning home would be so much easier with her there to give him a solid presence to lean against.

The warmth of the Great Fire brought memories back to his mind. This place was the first place he had met Ralla. He remembered when he had been sitting near the ceremonial stone floor while she was cleaning it, and sitting near the Great Fire while she talked about what she saw within the fire. It truly was a magical moment. "Ralla...are you as nervous as I am for this day?" He pulled her into a hug and smiled.

Kemo ”talks”, walks, and thinks.
