As strange as it might seem he actually didn't take offense at her question. Instead he just shook his head. "No." He stated simply at first as he thought of the simplest way to explain the way that things worked. "Me numba four, brotha numba two. We go journey an' make puppies. Numba one puppy go back home. Numba one girl puppy lucky lucky lucky. Numba two boy puppy good. Numba two boy puppy go journey." It was a really vague description of the way that the culture worked where he was born at. If he hadn't been an even born child then he wouldn't have been allowed to leave to even make the journey. So of course that meant that he was hoping that his first born would be a girl and then continue to have only even numbered males after that. He wanted to make his father proud after all.
He struggled with the boat while the female was checking the last remaining building. He wanted to make sure that there was absolutely nothing here. That they had come across nothing at all. And well, now that he seen the boat he really wanted it. It would be a slice of where a good few months of his life had been spent. Once there she was free to forget all about it. He made to drag the boat to the water, determined to have it one way or another. Once he found something that he wanted then he pursued it with a single mindedness, one way or another he would have just what it was that he wanted. He had the determination and drive to keep on until he finally had in his possession just what it was that he had decided that he just had to have.
