If only life was easy

A few minutes passed in silence, Faryn's sapphire gaze watching the world go by outside the old building. The wind could not reach her in hear, nor the cold for the most part. As the numbness began to leave her extremities, the blonde girl wiggled her toes and fingers, not for any particular reason except to get the blood flowing faster. It was nice to have fur, for when she took the time to warm up, her fur did a great deal to hold the warmth in. Even as she sat, the silence was broken by a call from outside the building. Instinctively, the girl looked towards the door, hoping to catch a glimpse of just precisely who was entering. A moment later she was greeted by the sight of not one, but two individuals, a male and a female. The pair did not notice her at first, but the discovery of her presence seemed to surprise them slightly. Hopefully they would not kick her out of the building. She wouldn't resist if they did, for the odds were against her in a struggle, but she really hoped to be able to stay. The thought of possibly being kicked out made the nervous girl's ears flatten for a moment, only to perk up again at the woman's greeting. Sapphire eyes looked towards the brown of the black and white woman as she introduced herself. Her male counterpart followed with an introduction of his own. Panda and Venom. Faryn had never heard names like those, but then again she hadn't met many people so what did she care. "I'm...Faryn...Faryn Tahra," she replied, her throat still a little achy from the frigid air she'd been breathing up until a few minutes ago.

Surprisingly to Faryn, after introducing herself, Panda asked her if they could stay, rather politely too. In Faryn's history she would have been told they were staying and if she had even appeared to have thought of protesting then she would have been punished. So her natural reaction was to make a hasty nod to the affirmative, which she did. A few seconds passed, her eyes darting about the room for a moment as she realized that it was her turn to speak. What would the nice thing to say next be? Her inexperience with real conversations left her guessing for a moment before the thought of what to do surfaced, "Y-you're welcome to sit...if you'd like. There's lots of room," she offered, her timid voice shaking slightly as she spoke. In truth, despite her natural reservations and fears, she would appreciate the company while it lasted. She wouldn't need to shame herself by pulling out the drug that held her prisoner and injecting herself in the presence of these two. She'd given herself a satisfactory dose that morning. It should have been sufficient to last long enough.
