Shawchert beamed as the man congratulated him on his engagement, and was soon in a world of silence as the man started thinking, but he didn’t have to wait long for an answer, and Strel took the paper Shaw had given him, and looked it over mentioning he would be able to do it. Time to Shaw was important but as they were a long ways off, he was sure there might be enough time for the red man to pull it off.
Is early summer enough time for you? Maybe even late spring, I was thinking around May or June if you know the calendar months.
He said, thinking about how long that would be from that day. He wasn’t the best at many things, and math wasn’t one of them but he soon had the calculations in his head.
That’s about two and a half to three months away.
Or moons he thought, not everyone went by a human calendar, though he knew much of the stars, and the moon, he was more use to the way the calendars worked. He listened as the man gave his conditions, and was surprised. That wasn’t much at all. To Shaw he’d be ripping the poor man off.

He called them that because to him that’s what they were, but they didn’t move like the human things did, not without manual help, and he couldn’t think of what else to make for the man.
