Time To Change

The foxlike wolf did not know what she was doing in this place. It was deep within the AniWaya territory, almost past it, and was as alien to her as the rest of the terrain. She had stayed within reach of J'adore and his building made of trees, in case he was interested in imparting his knowledge upon her; however, the male seemed far too busy with his duties, and that meant she had time to waste. The exploration of the territory was important to her - if you were going to live somewhere, it is good to know the land. As Tatiana moved she watched as the population thinned, down to the point where she was alone. It signified that she was nearing the edge of the territory, which made her somewhat nervous. Nayati had said the border wasn't constantly patrolled, so that meant she could encounter all kinds of dangers if she was not careful. When the wind shifted and she caught the scent of another wolf, it made her feel more at ease. The stranger was from AniWaya, so they were probably friendly and safe; far better than the lone state she was currently in. How curious, that the wolf who so loves it's freedom becomes so scared upon losing it. She was part of a pack now, and even without knowing the entirety of the populace, it felt strange for her to be alone.

Tatiana moved quickly through the shadows, her slender body shifting in between trees and racing over rocky hills, until she was within visual range of the wolf. The stranger was female, and they were quite interested in a tree - it was a simple tree, one that resembled many others from her current distance. Yet as the girl approached, she saw what was so magnificent about it. The growth was tall, one of the largest trees she had ever seen, and there were markings upon it's surface. Strange shapes that meant little to the animal, but still seemed magical. Tatiana had a sudden feeling of apprehension set in to her heart - was she intruding on a ritual, perhaps? Or inturrupting this stranger at a time that was unwanted? She took a posture of utmost submission, looking a bit apologetic should the wolf look over - and then began examining the tree herself. The shapes looked odd, but some were... Interesting. Crude birds, bears, was she seeing this correctly? Animal shapes. "What do those shapes mean?" Came her quiet question, hoping that enough time had passed so that her voice would not startle the other canine. Her curiosity overran her fears and apprehensions, and she just wanted to understand. Why was this tree so significant? What did the shapes mean? Looking at them made Tatiana's skin crawl, but... Not in a bad way, somehow. In a familiar creeping sensation. How bizarre.
