He was oblivious, and it only served to fuel searing anger further; treating Gabriel as she was had never happened before and, though she realized it was wholly wrong, she couldn't seem to stop herself once it started. The world lost color as the tightness in her chest pushed out into the rest of her body. Muscles contracted, and a body that once stood upon two legs spread onto four. A change of shape was never so difficult to the russet princess as it had been in that moment, and thick jaws released a snarl housing physical pain as well as her emotional distress. Her body wasn't the body of a petite and doggish coyote, but the burly form of something else.
Coherent thoughts passed through her mind, but she found herself unable to voice them as her eyes settled once more on the scarred body of her father. Heavy paws carried her closer with staggered steps, gaze narrowing and mind clearing. All of her irrational realizations came forward. "Ezekiel told me. About her. The...dog." She couldn't remember the name he had used, something seasonal. The only key she had to the identity of the whore was her pack, which resided on the coast and filled itself with primarily domesticated canines, or hybrids of such a thing. A tic caused her head to jerk sideways, only briefly, as lips raised to bare sharp eggshell teeth. "You replaced mother with that."
