The female was thrust through the waves like a leaf in the wind. She was sputtering and choking on salt water when she was crashed into the shore. She gagged up salt water as she lay there, motionless besides her spasming head. She could taste only salt but a comforting faded scent of leaves and fresh air remained which she clung to desperately. She could already tell this land was not Maine. She felt as though she were being thrown between waves, yet she was fully aware of being on land. Liliana agged for a few more minutes before daring to move her confused body. She sat up and looked around, but her legs wobbled and she lay down instead, hoping to catch a familiar scent or two. There was a scent, however, that no wolf would ever want to smell The scent of blood, and large quantity no less, with the scent of a pack of wolves.
The blood was her blood, that was for sure. She could feel her left temple throbbing where she had hit it on a rock, and blood was pouring down it. She felt faint and giddy, so she remained lying motionless, just catching a glimpse of a few mounted skulls about 50 feet away from where she was lying. The scent of wolves was coming from there. Good. She needed help, and fast. She hoped that her bright golden fur and the blood staining it would attract someone's attention.
