She listened, she watched, and she observed in silence as the pack members heard the news given by their leader. For a moment, it seemed calm; for a very, very brief moment. Mars was the first to speak, and the words that came from his lips were unkind. His voice raised, he berated Shawchert, and it seemed to cast a dark cloud above everyone. More shouts came from the crowd. Eventually the leader stormed away; Krystalle couldn't blame her. She simply stood, staring at the rest with wide pink eyes. "Madre de Nao-buja." Her voice was soft beneath the rest of the pack. A white-tipped hand rose to cover her eyes.
"Why are men always so eager to start fights?!" she exclaimed, accusing words directed at the males present. Mars had started it. She knew it had been his fault. Her gaze fell on him, narrowing slightly; it was jealousy that fueled her cold stare. He had left her, but he was so worried about a woman who had fled the pack. Flopped ears fell back against her skull. "'m sure Shawchert's done all he can, Mars! If you think you can do better, go find yourself your own pack!" Defending the male who had been kind to her in the past wasn't difficult; the Russo had been in the wrong. As her mind twisted around the topic, however, more feelings bubbled forth.
"If she's been gone so long, I don't think she's comin' back! Maybe she's dead! Maybe if we find a body, you'll stop thinkin' about her all the time!" Fists clenched, she spun on her heel, fast steps taking her away from the group; she wasn't willing to head home, so she moved toward the entrance to their small town. Shawchert had the right idea. Getting away from the madness was a necessary step.
