*snags the second spot!* Big Grin I just realized how awesome it would be for Jefferson to meet Claudius and for Claudius to meet Sakari! (345)

Claudius has not expected to find visitors practically outside his doorstep. Well, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration: while he lived in a cave beside Adagio Creek, he never would have expected to find anyone else romping around so close to his home. As far as he was aware, most AniWayans lived in the village, so it was a surprise to find anyone else around these parts. Many came to fish and relax here, but few wandered this way for business.

Gathering up his courage, Claudius decided to venture forth from his den and investigate. Immediately, he noticed the scent of a horse nearby and froze. Even though he knew Liliana was comfortable enough around them, he was still terrified of the giant beasts. Claudius stared, wide-eyed, from behind the trunk of a tree as a wolf approached on the horse. It still mystified him how luperci could ride those things!

Soon enough, another wolf approached. Claudius was too far away to determine who either were, but the scents were familiar. He moved closer and ducked behind another tree, again cautiously peering around it to sneak a glimpse. The wind shifted and he sniffed the air once more. He recognized the younger wolf: she had been in the town hall when it had been snowed in. The other, however, was Jefferson. He recognized him from when the leader spoke to them about Dawali's absence and how he would be helping out. Claudius had never known any leaders aside from Dawali, so he was curious, but still too afraid to approach.

After a few more minutes of lurking behind the tree -- and hearing the young wolf ask Jefferson if he was leaving again -- Claudius emerged from behind the tree. He was sure that they would have noticed him by his scent, but he felt better taking his time before actually revealing himself.

"W-when a-are you... c-c…o-oming… ba-a-ack" Claudius asked quietly. He stared up at the one-armed, one-eyed wolf perched on top of the horse. Together, they were horribly frightening. Claudius gulped loudly.
