Talitha's there, and then Talitha leaves. Herp. So goes the merry-go-round. Also: CONGRATS, LIBRIFACE! 500+

She had not desired to go when the call was made, but knew it was wrong to keep her father waiting. A heavy sigh brought her from her work upon the now-rotting corpse that sat within the entrance of her den and frail body lifted from its place upon the ground, with removed skull still in hand. She hadn't finished cleaning it, but soon she'd take it to Ezekiel, in the hopes he would forgive her; it hung by the spine so carefully severed by rusted knife she'd found within Halifax, and swung ever so slightly as she made her way into the Forest of Nod to hear her father preach new news to his precious kingdom.

Crimson eyes watched from behind all the rest, focused solely on the face of her father as pain from newly-broken ribs flared up in her chest. Black-rimmed ears listened. Kaena was no longer a leader. Instead, much to the displeasure of the princess, her cousin took the place. Another reason for Halo to step upon the Aquila's eldest daughter as if she were a bug. It didn't affect the expression of apathy crossing the russet features, but clear distaste rose within ruby eyes. Her pacing stopped behind a figure, hiding as if unwilling to let the leadership see her. A delicate hand rose to rub at wounded chest in secrecy before she returned to her rounds in the background.

The new change in their territory was more interesting to Talitha than the rise to power of one born to outside forces; they were shifting away from wolves, ones who had killed the son of her German lover. She had encountered creatures from Anathema, one aggressive border-watcher, and was glad her father's intelligence hadn't slipped with his aging. She hadn't noticed her precious brother was absent until after Gabriel made the mention that he was marking northern borders; internally, she was disappointed. She hadn't seen him since his disappearance.

As the Aquila fell silent, she wondered what questions to voice, but found none. Instead, she moved closer, careful steps drawing her closer to the porch used as a pedestal. She only wanted to leave. A bone-shattering cough escaped creme muzzle and her gaze shifted from Gabriel's face to Halo's. Her disgust was restrained. "Congratulations, cousin. I'm sure you'll prove yourself worthy." The words held no venom, and despite her irritation, she was sincere. Halo had stood strong alongside Inferni when others had left. Talitha was proud, somewhat, to call the female her family.

Again her gaze moved to Gabriel, and all distaste of her cousin disappeared, leaving the customary sorrow that filled the woman. Her voice dropped, not wanting to disrupt the movement of the meeting. "Would God be angry if I left your announcement early...daddy?" she whispered, using the parental moniker she had not openly said to the man for quite some time. She'd failed God, but she had tried to make amends; only Gabriel would be able to tell her if it was okay, of course.
