[M] Sinning Makes Me Smile

His head fell back, long, smooth strands of black hair swayed and fell with the movement and then he chuckled; the sound deep and full of genuine humour. “Well ain’t you a right charmer” he countered, his arms coming up to cross across his chest, blue eyes peering down at the male; hard and cold, as they always were. He could not remember who had said it, but he’d been told that eyes often showed a canine’s emotions; but his had always been devoid. Jay had suggested that since he never liked sharing himself with others, his eyes stopped showing emotion. At the time, it had sounded ridiculous and well, still did.

One thing he was certain of, was the he did not tolerate another telling him what to do; especially one of a lower rank, not that he cared much for his standing within the pack, but he was above the male and would use it against him if need be. But for now, he settled on a simple show of defiance; he remained exactly where he was, whilst mimicking the smirk he’d seen upon the others face.

“I’d say yours were just as hairy as mine, dog” he cared little about the other’s heritage, he was simply stating a fact. Now satisfied he’d made his point and he’d stopped being petty, he manoeuvred around the fire, keeping a comfortable distance between himself and the hybrid. He moved until he was next to a wall, of which he then gently leant against, taking the weight off his legs and using the wall as support. There was enough distance between himself and the other, so that the hybrid was no longer within his personal space and he believed himself to be out of the others, but was close enough to maintain a conversation, if one was to take place.

Normally, he would have walked on, continued on his way and left the drunk to himself, he had plans for the evening that were much more entertaining than keeping a miserable drunk company. But the tone of voice and choice of words the stranger had used irritated him, resulting in his vaguely pleasant mood changing into a sour one.

Since the hybrid wanted to be an arse, he would join him. If this hybrid wanted to pick a fight with him, he was game.
