She arrived on queue - Late enough for irritation, but not so much as to have him muster the energy to chide her. Truth be told, the sable-hued Tuyul was a willing enough pupil, when her mood was suited to the situation. And as this exercise was purely for her benefit and from the generosity of his spirit, she did not seek to complain often.

As expected, the horses were quick to note her arrival. The dull-witted creatures were more flighty around Eris; He wondered if they were in possession of a sense that allowed them to detect her similar discomfort, fuelling their own. As he, clearly the superior creature. treated them as distasteful decorations to the cave, they did likewise in regards to him. Strange creatures, horses - If he were not in such a dark-witted mood, the idea could have been worth deeper pondering.

As it were, there was no time for such waste of brainpower. The woman's voice sought him out, and he did not wish to dally any longer than necessary. "Come along, Eris," Came the rich baritone swell of the male's voice, slick with persuasion and an authority that he could only hold over her in these morning of tutelage. The woman was, after all, of a higher ranking than himself - Whats more, she was a somewhat formidable character, not to be goaded. Her bulk was greater than his lanky coyote frame, and although he beat her in height and length of leg, running away from the mother-bear-eris was usually only a short-term situation.

So, as a matter of principle (to avoid pain and embarrassment), she usually had the ability to boss over him. Because of this he had suffered through the detestable role of baby-sitter/chewtoy, and that alone was enough for a strong wish for vengeance. The only outlet for such a thing was through these small hunting trips, where he could push her to her physical limits, and be superior every time. Were it not for his general distaste for the messiness of hunting and the early rising, Sirius may have actually found the endeavor rather... Amusing.

After allowing the dark Tuyul to detect him in the gloom of the cave, Sirius rose from his position and headed for the sunlight exit. He emerged into the cool air, bathed in pale light from the soon-to-be-born sun. Grimacing, the male blinked painfully for a moment as his apple green eyes dilated to adjust to the new source of light. His dishevelled appearance became more obvious in the dawn scenery - blended coffee pelt moved every which way, and the coyote tail that looked too small for his wolf-height frame was a bottlebrush of ochre. Normally a stickler for a groomed physical appearance, Sirius' scowl darkened. "I've decided to graduate you," With a brisk tone, the coywolf settled back into his pacing, ground-eating stride, risking a casual glance over one shoulder to check that the woman was following, "We will be going after something a little different, this morning," With the freshly-melted surrounding streams in mind, and the gleeful image of Eris' face when she realised just what he would be making her do in the still-chilly temperature, the male picked up his loping, effortless pace.
