His fingers tensed, tightening around the pommel of his blade; the rough, worn down leather felt smooth within his palm. Every now and then, a rouge breeze would know the weapon; it would simply bounce and rock by his side, tugging at the belt that secured the scabbard to his waist. Just the feel of the sword by his side reassured him; by simply carrying it, he knew that if something bad happened he would more able to defend himself and others. His needed to defend didn’t come from his pride as a warrior, nor did it stem from the feeling of superiority and the respect that some warriors bathed in. By the time he had made it to the sand shores, the sun was standing proudly in the sky; its rays blinding and burning at the same time. Carefully, he took in the scents and surrounding area, the dumped all his belongings by a large rock he’d found. The rock was large that stood away from the gentle tide. Satisfied his goods were hidden out of sight, he moved into the water and began to leisurely swim, the cool wet liquid relaxing tense muscles and calming his mind.
