Alert now, he sharpened his senses and took in every detail of his surrounding area. When at a physical disadvantage, using that which was around him and his own speed was normally the best tactic to stay alive; and hopefully give him enough time to figure out how to win this spar. Within seconds he had his surroundings mapped out and the image ingrained within his mind. Tentatively, he tightened his grip; keeping space between his two hands which clutched his new found weapon.
When the other charged, he counted slowly in his head, working so that he got the timing just right. Thankfully it seemed as if the other hadn’t paid all that much attention to him dipping a paw into the sand; a small gesture which could be easily overlooked.
Cautiously, he watched the other raise his axe and he judge by the angle that the others aim was his shoulder. His instincts screamed for him to run and dodge, but he held his ground waiting patiently for the other to close in just alittle bit more.
And then he threw his foot up, twirling and leaping back in the same motion; sand was sent flying into the air, poorly aimed at the giant’s face. Water lapped at his paws and he noticed he was once more close to the moving tide.
Water or up-close and personal with a giant and his axe? The answer was easy, he stepped back once more, eyes never leaving the other.
