LET THE MOTHERHOOD BEGIN.

The mid-morning sun shone down on the world, bathing even the dense forest in its bright light. It was brisk outside, even with the warming sun, but the shaggy female that traipsed about the wilderness almost didn't feel it. Inwardly, however, as she took large, shuffling steps along the forest earth, Malachi was chilled to the bone. Though the leader of Crimson Dreams had forgiven the large creature for intruding upon the lands, if only to see Denali.. Mala was also informed of her dear friend's death.

Her heart, which lay behind her scarred chest, was heavy with grief at the news. So much so that the great big female enveloped the mother, the one who attacked her moons ago, in a large hug. It was in this way that the heavy stranger and the alpha of the lands connected; if only the bond wasn't through the loss of someone simpatico, who meant a great deal to the pair.. and no doubt affecting many other wolves.

"Hnngg.." Came the small cry from her cream colored muzzle, waddling along amidst the trees where no one but the forest creatures could hear her. Her grieving at the beach did not stop there. She was alone, and felt even more alone without her young companion nearby. He helped her, in many ways, but mainly in getting over her fear of pups, though traces of it remained. Denali was special, in that way, and now he would never come bounding up to play hide and seek, or to play tag, or for her to see him grow up.

As the grizzled beast meandered into a small clearing, the sounds of running waters wafted through her rounded ears. A creek cut into the heart of the area, strewn with mossy rocks that form a zig-zag path across. A gust of wind blew as she entered, then, caressing her, and honey eyes closed for a moment to feel the spirit of a lost friend. "If only you had gotten rid of this fear.." Mala mumbled, ambling to the bank of the creek and staring across her next biggest fear. There the female stood, as if battling to work her way across or find another way around.
